Whether you’re a skier or not, we suggest that you try this activity which is suitable for people of all ages and can make both young and old fall in love: building an igloo from blocks of ice, just like a real Eskimo!
With the arrival of winter and the snow, a wide range of activities opens up in Andorra so you can enjoy the season. The most popular is skiing in all its different disciplines, which you can practise in the country’s two major ski resorts: Grandvalira and Vallnord.
But there’s much more to do in addition to skiing or as an alternative activity: sledging through natural surroundings, a zip wire that reaches speeds of up to 80 km/h, sliding down the mountain on a huge rubber donut, trekking through the forest on snowshoes or discovering our snowy mountains on a sled towed by dogs…
Another of the activities you can try is learning to build an igloo in the middle of nature. A novel activity that you can do with family or friends, suitable for everyone aged 7 and up.
Even if you’ve never managed to put together a single Lego set in your whole life, you’ll find that you can build an igloo in the middle of nowhere in under two hours. Our specialist personnel will be there to assist with instructions, while also providing a bit of historical insight and curious facts about igloos, as well as providing all the materials you need to build one (shovels, saws, etc.).
To get involved with this activity all you need is skiwear or warm clothes, snow gloves, sunglasses, snow boots and sun cream to protect your skin. Oh! And one more essential: your smartphone to take an impressive photo when you get inside the finished igloo!
Now that you’ve started a photo album of your getaway to Andorra, you can’t leave without getting a selfie in Caldea. In the outdoor Jacuzzi, watching the night show, having dinner in your bathrobe in our aquatic restaurant… there are a thousand and one options that are sure to make everyone who sees them green with envy!
