Sun, lush mountains, perfect temperatures… spring has arrived and is waiting for you in Andorra!
Spring is the perfect time for a weekend getaway with the family, or to take advantage of the May bank holidays and enjoy the lesser known aspects of the country of the Pyrenees.
We would like to suggest 5 unmissable plans, do you want to hear more?
It is still possible today to find evidence of 17th century Andorra’s most important industry: iron. Along the iron route, a path that is just under 4 km long (on a round trip), you can witness a snippet of our little country’s history.
The itinerary begins with a visit to the Llorts mine, which will give you a rough idea of the working conditions of the time. This first stage of the route is the only time you will have to pay (€5 for adults and €2 for children) and book in advance with the Ordino Tourist Office.
And after the visit, it’s time to follow the “camí dels traginers”. Along the hike, during which you will be surrounded by the region’s native wildlife, you will come across various sculptures made from the route’s eponymous material: The Jordino Family; Endless; The House of Earth and Fire; The Iron Carriage and Pick; The Iron Man; and Earth, Iron, Water and Fire.
We can all learn and have fun together on this hike.
Do you want to feel like an authentic horseman crossing the Andorran forests on horseback? Because this is possible too! All over the country you can find horse riding or family parks where you can mount a horse or a mare and take a guided tour of one of the mountain paths that have been prepared for this activity. And don’t forget about the ponies for the little ones!
If you’re more into adventures and adrenalin, you can’t miss Naturlandia! Archery, Tubing, Buggies, AirTrekk, Zip Lines…. And the star attraction: The Tobotronc, the longest slide in the world. 5 kilometres of curves, excitement and adrenaline!
In addition, your little ones can also see typical Pyrenean wildlife up close and personal at the animal park, where bears, wolves, lynxes and much more await them…
A totally unforgettable experience!
Take advantage of your visit to Andorra and get a taste of the art world at the Museu Carmen Thyssen. The “Allées et Venues” exhibition will be on until September, the central theme is paths and there is also the rare opportunity to see the famous Gauguin piece that lends its name to the exhibition.
And did we also mention that you can enjoy our thermal waters as a family? At CALDEA, you can all have fun together in Thermoludic’s central lagoon or enjoy the Indo-Roman baths with your partner while the little ones have the time of their lives in the LIKIDS children’s space.
A world of possibilities is waiting to be discovered at the spa that’s unlike any other spa.
